This is the 6'9" that Travis Weller painted for the Surf Artisan Expo. Travis went to town on this board and came up with something that I have always wanted. Thank you Travis.

The panel on the bottom right is in memory of my mustache that I cut off. There is also one on the bottom of the board. Thanks for honoring something that was so close to my heart. "It grew on me".

This was a great day and a great way to collaborate with some of my favorite artists Ben Keys and Travis Weller. I gave each of them a board to paint and let them go off. The Show benefitted Surfers Healing an organization that takes kids with Autism surfing. We had a blast with our back yard bbq.

My Dream Board

This is the board that I had been dreaming about for two years. It is a fish for GOOD waves. I pulled help from Skip Frye, Dave Rastovich, and John Cherry.

The board has a pulled in nose so that it can get tighter to the pocket in a barrel and lay down a harder turn.

The Nose Rocker is similar to a high performance shortboard but the tail rocker is very similar to my traditional fish.
John Cherry did a beautiful job on the fins. They are single foiled and as you can see and they are cutaway on the base for flex. Resulting in a tighter turn and spring out of turns.

Thank you to all that helped with this board. This board is truly a gift from God. I was able to pull knowledge from the best in the world to make it. Special thanks to Catherine Yearwood (wife), Skip Frye, Dave Rastovich, Greg Eavey, John Cherry, Jaime Hunter.

For the last year I have been working on a new kind of fish that will work well in GOOD waves. So while back home on this last trip I had some help breathing life into all the ideas that have been keeping me up at night. Here are the photos.

This fish will be for guys who want to ride fish in very good waves. You will be able to bring a new school approach to surfing a fish. This board will still lay down the smooth old school lines but if you want to throw in something more new school the board will allow you to.

I shaped this board as a surprise for my wife. I cant wait to watch her glide on it.

The Art was done as a special favor by one of my favorite artists and my glasser Greg Eavey. I gave him a poem that my wife loves by EE Cummings as inspiration. He created this masterpiece using resin not paint. Greg is truly one of the best at what he does.
